Overview of Studio Policies
-
PSPA has an Open Viewing Policy, which means you may watch your
child dance at any time that is convenient for you during class time at the
studio! The only exception is “dress rehearsal” for our June performance
which is closed.
-
Required Dress – Assigned Class leotards and tights must be worn
to each class. NO Street Clothes! Hair should be always be pulled up. These
leotards are also required attire for dance workshops and community events
eliminating the need to unnecessarily purchase additional costumes or dance
wear.
-
Class Absence
-
General Division students may “make up” classes missed due to
illness or inclement weather in their scheduled “Sister Class” free
of charge. But, please call ahead so the instructor can be
notified. Class size is limited to twelve dancers in the Primary
thru Elementary Levels. Occasionally, as we approach our June
performance we will choreograph large production numbers that require
two or more classes getting together. These productions will affect
class/rehearsal schedules.
-
Company and Advanced class students Do not have “sister” classes
available for makeup and are expected to participate at their regular
class times. We understand there may be absences that cannot be avoided,
and will be addressed on an individual basis. Choreographic roles are
directly related to attendance as they impact the entire class.
-
June Performances
-
PSPA has an annual performance in June of each year, offering the
aspiring artist the opportunity to share their love of dance with family
and friends. This is optional, but we must be informed prior to
January, as it will impact choreography planning, costume orders, and
other members of the class. All participating dancers are required to
attend rehearsal week. Students unable to attend may not be allowed to
perform as this impacts both the performance as well as the safety of
other dancers. Student accounts must be up to date or arrangements made
in order to perform.
Attire
All students are required to wear
class leotards along with ballet, tap, jazz shoes as assigned to their class.
We will use the class leotard in our upcoming performance. Their leotard and
shoe wear is available at Little Shoes in Plymouth. Arrangements for our dance
wear has been pre-arranged with Little Shoes, parents only need to inform them
of your childs class time and the necessary items will be made available. No
worries about stock running out. Please wear this leotard to each and every
class with hair up and proper dance shoes.

Scholarships and Payment Plans – PSPA was founded with the belief that
ALL children with the desire should have the opportunity to learn the arts
and be able to explore and develop in their chosen field. We offer

Its
important to allow our young people experience the entire theatre experience,
therefore we bring in a professional video and light crew, use backdrops and
props as one might see in a professional show. PSPA rents a theatre for the
entire week giving our dancers the benefit of rehearsing at least twice before
performing. PSPA believes once dancers are comfortable with their new
surroundings they can focus on their inner artist and perform! Our stage crew is
a combination of professionals and volunteer parents. There are no performance
or rehearsals fees for students. All dancers are required to attend rehearsal
week. Students unable to attend are unable to perform.
